.Put a cotton ball in each ear and a few popcorn kernels in each shoe. Stuff the remaining cotton balls into the fingers of the gloves and put them on. Fold the ziploc bag in half and find some way to hold it front of your eyes. Now try to go about your day and try doing something you might normally enjoy for an hour or so. Cook a meal, hang out with your family or friends, watch a favorite show, walk your dog.

write a reflection about your experience. What did you try doing? How did it go? How did things appear, feel, and sound? What challenges did you encounter? How did you cope with them? What was helpful? What would have been helpful? What other thoughts or feelings did/do you have? If you really want to get into it, try smelling an onion or some garlic while eating something sweet.

Introduction:

While the above text might seem like an unusual request, it is important for medical college students to understand the significance of empathy and the importance of understanding the experiences of their patients. In this assignment, students are asked to reflect on their experiences when attempting to perform everyday tasks with several sensory limitations.

Answer:

For this assignment, I tried watching a favorite show with the cotton balls in my ears and the popcorn kernels in my shoes. Initially, I did not experience any major issues with the task. However, as the show went on, I found myself becoming increasingly anxious and frustrated with my inability to hear what was going on. My ears felt stuffed, and I had to turn the volume up to an uncomfortable level to hear anything at all.

The gloves with the cotton balls in the fingers made it very difficult for me to use my hands effectively, and I struggled to hold objects securely. The bag in front of my eyes was also a challenge to work around, and I found myself bumping into things more often than usual.

To cope with the challenges, I tried to go slower and be more deliberate with my movements. I used my other senses to compensate for my lack of hearing and vision, such as relying more heavily on my sense of touch to interact with objects.

Overall, the experience was challenging but also interesting. It allowed me to better understand what it might be like for someone with sensory limitations in certain situations. If I were to do the activity again, I would perhaps choose different tasks to better simulate what it might be like for someone with specific limitations.
