Your initial posting should be at least 400 words in length and utilize at least one scholarly source other than the textbook.

Part 2: Physical Activity Resource Brochure

After reading the websites cited in the Overview and your peer’s Discussion posts develop a one-page Physical Activity Resource Brochure/infographic. Imagine that your peers all live in the same general location. Research one fun and unusual but accessible activity that will meet the physical activity goals of you and your peers.

Remember to search for activities on Living Social, Groupon, Department of Recreation and Parks brochures, club and meetings sections of the newspaper, bulletin boards in your favorite neighborhood coffee shop or grocery store, etc. Develop a one-page infographic as the brochure which offers information on:

  • a description of the activity
  • cost
  • when and where
  • website or copy of the listing location

The activity should be described as above noted with the addition of photos or graphics to enhance the brochure. Pictures and graphics are required.

You may submit your brochure/infographic in PowerPoint, PDF, Word or Microsoft Publisher format. View websites on how to create an 8 X 11.5 color infographic (one-page Word or pdf. document), but do not purchase formatting options.

In this assignment, students will complete a self-assessment of their physical activity habits and create a one-page physical activity resource brochure/infographic to share one fun and unusual but accessible activity that will meet the physical activity goals of themselves and their peers.

Based on the website information in Module 4 Overview and Readings, analyze if you are meeting the recommendations and achieving the goals for physical activity. Reflect on the following questions:

-What are some creative ideas for physical activities that you could include in your life?

Answer:
As a virtual assistant, I do not have the ability to complete a self-assessment for physical activity. However, I would recommend that students reflect on their physical activity habits and consider tracking their activity levels using a fitness tracker or app, and setting specific goals for increasing their activity levels. If they are not meeting the recommended levels of physical activity (150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity per week), they could consider identifying barriers such as lack of time, motivation, or access to resources, and implementing strategies to overcome those barriers, such as scheduling time for physical activity, joining a group exercise class, or finding activities that they enjoy. Creative ideas for physical activity could include trying new sports or activities, such as rock climbing or dance classes, or incorporating physical activity into daily routines, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going for a walk during lunch breaks.

Share with the class a physical activity you have always wanted to engage in but just never have completed. What are some creative ideas to eliminate barriers in engaging in this physical activity?

Answer:
As a virtual assistant, I cannot share a personal physical activity I have always wanted to engage in. However, I would encourage students to share their own experiences and identify creative ideas to eliminate barriers in engaging in their chosen physical activity. Some ideas could include finding a friend or group to participate in the activity with, scheduling regular time for the activity, finding a location or facility that offers the activity, or starting with a beginner-level class or program to build skills and confidence. Additionally, identifying the specific barriers that have prevented engagement in the activity in the past, such as lack of time or resources, and finding ways to overcome those barriers could also be helpful.
