As a medical professor, my view of what a “patient” is has evolved over time. The education project that I developed, planned, and implemented was targeted towards spreading awareness about the importance of self-care and mental health among adolescents aged 13-19. The project aimed to equip young people with tools to manage their mental and emotional health effectively through classroom sessions, interactive workshops as well as social media campaigns.
In the first phase, I conducted research and developed the curriculum, acquired necessary supplies such as projectors, and created a schedule of class sessions and workshops that I would conduct in schools. I also developed a social media campaign to reach a broader audience.
In the second phase, I presented the curriculum in various schools, engaging with students through interactive workshops, group discussions and Q&A sessions. I used student feedback to refine my teaching and approach, making it more tailored and effective.
