Assignment PICOT Statement Paper
EBP and Nosocomial infection in Long Term care
Review the Topic Materials and the work completed in NRS-433V to formulate a PICOT statement for your capstone project.
A PICOT starts with a designated patient population in a particular clinical area and identifies clinical problems or issues that arise from clinical care. The intervention should be an independent, specified nursing change intervention. The intervention cannot require a provider prescription. Include a comparison to a patient population not currently receiving the intervention, and specify the timeframe needed to implement the change process.
Formulate a PICOT statement using the PICOT format provided in the assigned readings. The PICOT statement will provide a framework for your capstone project.
In a paper of 500-750 words, clearly identify the clinical problem and how it can result in a positive patient outcome.
Make sure to address the following on the PICOT statement:

Assignment PICOT Statement Paper, health and medicine homework help Nursing Assignment Help
As a medical professor in charge of creating college assignments and answers for medical college students, I have been tasked with designing and conducting lectures, evaluating student performance, and providing feedback through examinations and assignments. One of the assignments I have designed is a PICOT Statement Paper on EBP and Nosocomial infection in Long-Term Care.
1. Identification of Clinical Problem/Issue:
The clinical problem/issue identified is nosocomial infections in long-term care. These infections are a significant problem in long-term care facilities and can lead to negative patient outcomes, increased healthcare costs, and increased hospitalizations. Evidence shows that the prevalence of nosocomial infections is high in long-term care facilities, and nursing interventions are necessary to prevent these infections.
2. Clinical Problem/Issue, Including Description, Evidence-Based Solution, Nursing Intervention, Patient Care, Health Care Agency, and Nursing Practice:
The clinical problem/issue is nosocomial infections in long-term care, which can be resolved through evidence-based nursing interventions. One such intervention is the use of infection prevention and control measures, such as hand hygiene and environmental cleaning, to reduce the risk of infection transmission. Another nursing intervention is the use of antibiotics, administered as needed, to treat these infections.
Improvements in patient care can be achieved by preventing the occurrence of these infections, reducing the incidence of complications, and minimizing healthcare costs and hospitalizations. Health care agencies can improve these outcomes by implementing evidence-based nursing interventions and providing education and training to staff on infection prevention and control.
Nursing practice can be improved by adopting evidence-based interventions aimed at preventing nosocomial infections in long-term care facilities. This includes promoting hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, and proper use of antibiotics.
3. PICOT Statement Focused on Resolution, Improvement, Application, and Intervention:
In long-term care facilities, does the implementation of evidence-based nursing interventions aimed at infection prevention and control (I) compared to no intervention (C) or current practice (C), improve patient outcomes (O) within a six-month timeframe (T)?
4. PICOT Statement Including Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes, and Time:
Population: Patients in long-term care facilities
Intervention: Implementation of evidence-based nursing interventions aimed at infection prevention and control
Comparison: No intervention or current practice
Outcome: Improved patient outcomes
Time: Six-month timeframe
In conclusion, the PICOT Statement Paper on EBP and Nosocomial infection in Long-Term Care is designed to identify clinical problems, provide evidence-based solutions, nursing intervention, patient care, healthcare agencies, and nursing practice. The PICOT statement must focus on resolution, improvement, application, and intervention, and include population, intervention, comparison, outcomes and time. By conducting research and implementing evidence-based interventions, healthcare providers can improve patient outcomes and reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections in long-term care facilities.
